Epley consisted of not much more then a post office, which was established on March 20, 1906. It was situated on what is known as Pogue Flat at a point about 2 miles northwest of present day Omak on the road from Omak to Conconully. At this time settlers were beginning to take up homesteads on the "flat" and a post office here served to direct travelers over the "flat" rather then along the old river road.
Mail came daily by stage, running from Riverside to Alma. On May 31, 1914 mail was discontinued and mail went to Omak.
